Varese Organizing Committee 

On behalf of the US Peace Council, I send you our fullest support for your demonstration in Varese against the sale of M-346 trainer jets and other military equipment to Israel .Such sales add to the present tensions in the Middle East. This, at a time when the United Nations has scheduled a Conference in Helsinki in December to discuss a Middle East Free of Weapons of Mass Destruction Zone, exacerbates the situation, stimulating the arms race in the region.. 

Israel’s threats against Iran, violations of international law, have created an atmosphere that threatens war that can spread beyond the region. The demonstration in Varese should raise its voice for support for a Middle East Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone and the Helsinki Conference. This Conference can open up a venue for negotiations.

Please accept our hands in yours.

LE MINACCE DI ISRAELE CONTRO LA VIOLAZIONE DA PARTE DELL’IRAN DELLA LEGGE INTERNAZIONALE HANNO CREATO UN’ATMOSFERA DI GUERRA IMMINENTE CHE PUO’ ESPANDERSI AL DI LA DELLA REGIONE. LA MANIFESTAZIONE DI VARESE DOVREBBE ALZARE LA VOCE A SUPPORTO DELLA “ZONA MEDIORIENTALE LIBERA DA ARMI DI DISTRUZIONE DI MASSA” E DELLA CONFERENZA DI HELSONKI. QUESTA CONFERENZA PUO’ APRIRE UNO SPAZIO DI NEGOZIAZIONE.
